WHEN PROGRESSIVE FLIRTS WITH POP, FUNK AND JAZZ
Without repeating formulas, the composer shows versatility when experimenting with new musical territories
Luciano Ladeira's eighth work brings short songs backed by guitars, distorted riffs and the composer's beautiful vocal harmonies, all accompanied by a very well-meshed bass and drums.
The album seamlessly transits through varied styles and influences ranging from hard rock by Van Halen and Led Zeppelin, to pop by the Beatles and American funk of the 70s (such as Stevie Wonder).
Among the highlights are the energizing "Roda Peão", which portrays the current political scene in Brazil, the unpretentious but authentic "De Paraquedas e Disco Voador", the humorous "Selfie" and the title track "Elástica", which sums up all the dynamics of the album.
