A JOURNEY BEYOND THE SEVEN MUSICAL NOTES

Composer mixes erudite and popular in search of his musical essence

In his fifth work, Luciano Ladeira bets on the sound of an imaginary quartet where he plays all the instruments. His search for the “essence of music” and the choice of acoustic instruments - piano and guitar - add sophistication to the arrangements and give a jazzy tone to his progressive compositions.

The album mixes instrumental moments that refer to Hermeto Pascoal, Dave Brubeck and Herbie Hancock with engaged and poetic lyrics that speak of our relationship with environment and touch on controversial themes such as the transposition of the Sao Francisco River and the Pascua Lama Project.

Among the highlights are “Muda O Rio” and “O Que Será” – two long pieces divided into three parts each – and the beautiful “Curandeira” and “Trapezista e Furacão”, which rescue the artist's songwriting style.
