Virtuosity and ancestry in a melting pot of sound textures

The group mixes progressive rock and Brazilian rhythms with epic themes and
ancient legends

"TERRA INCÓGNITA" is the only album by the progressive rock band Cio, formed in São Paulo in 2000 by Luciano Ladeira, Felipe Crema, David Lawant, Gisele Fagali, Humberto Valdivia and Marcelo "Ursão".

Released in January 2001, the album became one of the rarest in rock history. His music reminds groups like Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Pink Floyd and Dream Theater, but Cio developed his own style due to his metaphysical lyrics and the mixture of symphonic rock with Brazilian rhythms.

Among the highlights are the epic "Footprints", which sounds like a chorus coming from civilizations of the past, the enigmatic "Under the Earth and Beyond the Sky", which narrates an 'astral journey' to the continent of Atlantis and the beautiful "Golden Eyes ", a kind of prelude to piano and voice.
